ReFuel -9- ALIVE

ReFuel -9- ALIVE

Many people go through their life not really living it to the fullest. Sometimes we get caught up with our work or different projects that leave us feeling tired and worn out at the end of the day that we don’t really feel alive. Well, in today' podcast I an going to use the acrostic ALIVE to help us get more out of life.
Are you ready? Here we go.

A-ccept others in your family for who they are.
Take time to step back and look at how
different your family is. Everyone is special and
   unique in their own way.
Why not celebrate the things that make them
unique by doing things they enjoy doing.

L-ive life to it's fullest.
   Try something new today!
  * Maybe you can take a walk during lunchtime
break at work. Just to relax and enjoy the
     scenery and solitude.
  * Maybe you can stop by Starbucks, buy a
cup of coffee and enjoy the atmosphere
while reading the paper or relaxing with
     friends.

I-nvest yourself in others.(especially family)
No one at the end of their life ever wished that
they spent more time at the office. It is the
opposite, if you want to look back on your life
with a sense of accomplishment than you need
  to invest it in others.

  1. If your married you can take your spouse
out for a night on the town, a resturaunt, or
even a stroll in the park or neighborhood.
  2. If you have kids you can do all sorts of stuff
      that interest them like...
    * Starting an ant farm
    * Coaching their  little league
    * Reading to them
    * Taking them to the park and flying a kite
The important thing to remember is that it is
not so much what you do that matters but
just simply spending TIME with them.

Ex. My middle son (Little Chris, yes he was named after me) and I were having relational
problems this summer. It seemed that I was
Working a lot more than usual and when I would get home I was too tired to spend time with him. So that when he did get my attention it was usually negative. It got to the point that he
didn’t want to spend time with me.
So here is what I did. My wife has family who live in Houston, which is 3 1/2 hours away and she needed to visit them for a couple of days.
So I thought it would be great if little Chris (who is 4) stayed with me. It was a great decision. I even took him to work with me. Although I only went in to the office for half a day and didn’t really accomplish when there it was still a great investment of my time. Now we look foreward
to hanging out together. And he is still asking to go to work with daddy.
This may not be possible for you to do with your job but the principal is still the same.
All your kids really want is you, their parent, to spend quality time with them.

Today's song of the day:
Jerimae Yoder
"Not In Vain"
Personal Revolution

V-ent
Don’t take your work problems/frustrations home with you. Leave them back at work.
Find creative ways to relieve stress in your life.
One of the ways I do it is by podcasting, fishing and playing my keyboard or guitar. Except for fishing, I find that releiving stress for me is more of an artistic expression. When I can make or create something it relaxes me and gets my
attention off of the stress.
After all, there is nothing I can do about it so why take it home with me to my family?
Jesus had something to say about this and it is found in
Mat 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

E-nergize yourself with friends who build you up.
You know, the kind of people who allow you to be you and who will speak into your life.
You need a Prov 27:17 friend.
17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens
    another.
If you don’t have one why not ask God to send somebody your way, and I bet he will do it.

Numbers 6:24-26
"The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."
Until next time, God bless you and have a great day!
